Wawasee Robotics Off To State TournamentSYRACUSE – Wawasee Iron Pride Robotics is taking seven teams to the Indiana VEX Robotics State Championship Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The club qualified four high school teams (574C, D, E and M) and one middle school (574H) team for state. 574J and 574N received a skills invite to state.
“I believe the Iron Pride will walk away with a number of awards from the state tourney,” said coach Jed Wandland. “Wawasee is a powerhouse and the team has very high hopes. The seven teams going to state have worked very hard to reach this point. As a coach, I could not be more proud than I am right now.”
After the state championships is the VEX Robotics World Championship. Twelve teams from the Indiana tournament will advance to World Championships in Louisville, Ky. Wawasee has qualified two teams for that tournament already; 574C and 574D qualified for world at the Kalahari Classic in January.
