SYRACUSE - Lucas D. Speakman is the valedictorian and Joshua R. Dawes is salutatorian for the Wawasee High School class of 2002.
Speakman, the son of Dave and Carmi Speakman, Syracuse, has been involved in the Academic Superbowl; four years of athletics in football, wrestling and track; and his church youth group. He was vice president of his junior class and is president of his senior class, vice president of the National Honor Society, sound engineer for Oakwood Productions and a representative to Student Council.
He plans to attend Asbury College.
Joshua R. Dawes, the son of Brian and Donna Dawes, Leesburg, has been involved in his church group, concert and jazz bands, Drama Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and "Lifeforce" Youth Choir. He is a member of National Honor Society, a drum major in the marching band and a representative to Student Council.
He plans to attend Huntington College.
