Posted
SYRACUSE – Wawasee High School was on lockdown today after it received threats.
According to Superintendent Dr. Tom Edington, the threats were made by telephone. Due to the nature of the threats, Edington said the school was placed on lockdown.
Authorities were notified, but the high school had as much of a normal school day as possible.
“As part of the lockdown, things are doing well as far as students going from class to class,” he said.
The school was on lockdown until authorities gave the OK.
Edington reported as well the school corporation was aware of the Key Bank robbery in North Webster this morning and locked down the elementary school also as a precaution.
Authorities monitored that situation as well.
