SYRACUSE – Wawasee sophomore Reagan Atwood won the overall competition and freshman Jada Parzygnot was second as the Lady Warriors defeated visiting Angola 100.275-80.70 Tuesday evening. Atwood finished first in the floor exercise and the beam, and second on the vault and bars. Parzygnot was first on the bars and third in the floor ex, the vault and the beam. Wawasee senior Ashleigh Frecker was first in the vault, and second in the floor ex and beam. “We had a fun meet tonight,” said head coach Nika Prather. “Reagan Atwood did an outstanding floor routine, scoring a 9.4. Jada Parzygnot had a very clean bar routine for first place. We did great tonight and had a lot of fun. We still have a lot of improving to do.” The Lady Warriors travel to Huntertown Thursday to take on Carroll.
Warrior Wrestlers Fall To RedHawks SYRACUSE – Seniors Tristin Ponsler (132 pounds) and Ronny Short (138) won by technical falls, and classmate Zac McKee pinned his Goshen opponent, but the visiting RedHawks won the Northern Lakes Conference dual meet 45-25 over the Warriors. “We need to take the next step from improving to finishing,” said Wawasee head coach Frank Bumgardner. Wawasee (11-14 overall, 0-5 NLC) will host Elkhart Memorial in the final home meet of the season for the Warriors.
