SYRACUSE – Having been outscored twice this season by Elkhart Central in invitational competition, and knowing the Lady Blazers are coming to town for the Wawasee Sectional on Feb. 27, the Lady Warriors wanted to make a statement in a dual Thursday evening. Wawasee emerged with a 104.65-103.65 Senior Night win over Central. “Our lone senior, Ashleigh Frecker, had a fantastic night,” said Wawasee head coach Nika Prather. “She had a no-fall beam routine, scoring an 8.1, and also had her career-high on the floor with an 8.75.” Sophomore Reagan Atwood was first in the all-around, and freshman Jada Parzygnot was third. Prather said the duo also had no-fall beam routines. The floor exercise was also a strong point for the Lady Warriors, with three scores higher than 9.0. Atwood was first with a 9.6, freshman Alyssa Minnix earned a 9.35, Parzygnot had a 9.2. Atwood was also first on the bars and beam, and Parzygnot was third on the beam. “This was a great night with a lot of personal bests,” Prather said. “We still have a lot of room to improve, but we had a fantastic night.” The Lady Warriors return to action Feb. 18 at Huntington North.
