SYRACUSE — The Wawasee boys golf team won 161-170 at South Shore Golf Club Wednesday, defeating Tippecanoe Valley.
In the nine-stroke victory, Wawasee’s Ben Jackson was the medalist, shooting a 37 on the par-36 course.
Wawasee also got a 39 out of Tyler Hare, followed by Josh Matti’s 41, Derek Zurcher’s 44, Dylan Cousins’ 44 and Luke Jackson’s 47.
For Valley, Taylor Breeden and Bray Swihart each shot a 42, followed by Ted Shepherd’s 43, Kevin Summe’s 43, Tanner Shepherd’s 45 and Tanner Neeley’s 48.
The 4-1 Wawasee Warriors travel to Saturday’s Homestead Invitational at Orchard Ridge Country Club. Valley is also in action Saturday, taking part in the LaVille Invitational.

Valley received the loss, even though starting pitcher James Hackworth had seven strikeouts and reliever Cory Krider finished with 10. Northfield pitcher Ryan Keaffaber got the win, striking out 10. The 10-5 (1-2 TRC) Vikings travel to Wabash Monday for another TRC game.
