SYRACUSE - Wawasee School Corp. has been awarded $42,000 from the Indiana Department of Education.
The grants, awarded through the Early Intervention Program, will be divided equally among the corporation's elementary schools.
Director of instruction Tom Tumey said Tuesday the grants will be used to target at-risk students, primarily for reading instruction.
He said tutors will meet with targeted students 30 minutes before the start of the school day to give them additional help.
The grants were awarded in September.
