SOUTH BEND — A big deficit and lightning forced Friday night’s game between South Bend St. Joseph and Wawasee to be called early. Leading Wawasee 34-0, the Class 4A No. 8 St. Joseph Indians were able to claim the victory at halftime due to lightning in the area. Complete stats from the game were unavailable at press time. Wawasee opens Northern Lakes Conference play this Friday at Northridge, which is coached by former Wawasee coach Tom Wogomon.
