Wawasee Falls To WestviewSYRACUSE – Wawasee senior Trevon Coleman had a game-high 21 points, and the Warriors knocked down nine three-pointers, but it wasn’t enough in a 58-52 loss to visiting Westview in a non-conference boys basketball game at the Hardwood Tepee Tuesday night.
Westview had four players in double figures; Elijah Hales with 16 points, Cody Collyer had 13, Josh Hostetler had 11 and Charlie Yoder had 10.
Wawasee trailed throughout the close game, trailing by seven points at halftime before cutting the deficit to four by the end of the third quarter. The Warriors had seven of their nine three-pointers after intermission, but Westview hit all seven of its free throw attempts to seal its win.
Jacob Hand hit three shots from beyond the arc and finished with 15 points for the Warriors, and Ryan Edington hit a pair of treys for his six points.
Wawasee won the junior varsity game 42-33.
Wawasee (5-14) will host East Noble (10-9) Saturday at about 7:30 p.m, following the JV game.
