SYRACUSE - A Wawasee Middle School student was charged with possession of marijuana after allegedly bringing it to school.

Nathan A. Sutton, 14, of 31 EMS B49 Lane, Warsaw, was taken into custody at the school and released to his father at the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.

According to a KCSD report, an administrator of WMS received information that Sutton might have marijuana in his possession. Sutton and his locker were searched, and officials reportedly found two plastic bags containing what is believed to be marijuana in Sutton's coat. One of the bags allegedly had a price tag of $5 on it.

Deputy Travis Marsh weighed the marijuana on the school's precision scales in the science department and noted that the weight, including the plastic bags, was 51 grams.

Sutton also allegedly gave Marsh another bag containing marijuana and marked $5 before getting into the police car to be transported to the sheriff's department.
