Wawasee Choirs Pop Into 1970s

SYRACUSE - Wawasee High School Choirs' Pop Show 2008 will take place May 2-3 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The show, "Music of the Seventies," will feature all three choirs. The choirs that will be performing are the beginning chorus, advanced chorus and vocal jazz. There also will be solos, ensembles and specialty acts.

Some of the music featured includes "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Dancing Queen," "September," "We are Family," "Boogie Fever," "YMCA" and other 1970s favorites.

There are solos, singing, dancing and many comedy routines. Emcees for this year are Julie Cline, Maggie Dye, Caleb Froebe and Lance Lannen.

All numbers for the show are choreographed, lighted and staged. Choreographer is Milford native and Wawasee graduate Suzanne Schwartz. Costuming the show is Deb Sweazy. Keyboard accompanist is Jamie Culbertson. Director of choirs is Connie Meadows.

Tickets are $7 and can be purchased from any choir member, from Meadows or at the school office. Tickets can be purchased at the door if the shows are not sold out.
