Wawase Fall Sports Awards Announced

SYRACUSE – The Wawasee Athletic Department announced its fall sports award winners in a ceremony at the school Monday evening.
The boys cross country team Warrior Way winner was Logan Brugh. Sam Griner was chosen as most improved, and Spencer Hare was recognized with the newcomer impact award. Luke Griner won the dedication to training award, and Ben Hoffert won for competitive toughness. Jaxon Bame was recognized as a four-year letter winner.
The girls cross country squad recognized Aubrey Kuhn as its most valuable, and McKenzie Smith as rookie of the year. Autumn Yoder won the mental attitude award, and Bailey Schroeder won the coaches award. Keyanna Clevenger and Brooke-Lynn Whetten. The team’s Warrior Way winner was Elizabeth Zorn.
The Warrior Way award for the girls golf team went to Kylee Rostochak, who also shared the MVP with Mikala Mawhorter. Madison Beaman was recognized as most improved, and Aubrey Schmeltz took home the coaches award. Zoe White was junior varsity medalist.
Savannah Schwartz was the Warrior Way winner from the girls soccer team. Player of the year went to Bethany Hapner, and Sarah Pritchard was named newcomer of the year. Most improved player went to Kayla White, and the attitude award went to Meghan Beer. Haleigh Smarr was named junior varsity player of the year.
 Nick Clark was the Warrior Way winner from the boys soccer team. The offensive awards went to Carlos Carmargo and Brady Wickersham, while the defensive awards went to Hunter Magiera and Dylan Elpusan.
The football team’s Warrior Way award was presented to Zac McKee, and Tyler Smith was offensive player of the year. Stephen Possell won defensive player of the year, and Lucas Garza earned special teams player of the year. The scout team player of the year was Devin Weikart, and the freshman player of the year was Dylan Hepler-Fink.
The volleyball Warrior Way winner was Hannah-Marie Lamle, and Seaquinn Bright won both the offensive and defensive award. The mental attitude award went to Madi Wilson, and Courtney Larson was named most improved. Brooke Heche won the junior varsity mental attitude award, and Kaylin Williams won the freshman offensive/defensive award.
Nate Haines won the boys tennis Warrior Way award, and Cal Heinisch the most valuable player award. Evan Krueger was named most improved varsity player, and Graham Perek the most improved JV player.
Ellsie Bowman was the Warrior Way winner for cheerleading, and the MVP for the varsity squad was Karen Caballero. The JV MVP was Alison Troutman, and the freshman MVP was Veronica Velencia. Kelsey Doss won the spirit award, and the most improved award went to Kalynn Workman. The MVP in competition was Jada Parzygnot.
