NORTH WEBSTER - A waterfowl hunting workshop will be Oct. 3. from 9 a.m. to noon at the Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area near North Webster. Instructed by Indiana conservation officers and a DNR Wildlife biologist, some topics of discussion will be: The history of waterfowl hunting; waterfowl identification; decoy layout and blind placement; waterfowl regulations; and waterfowl foods.
"After last year's workshop we had so many positive comments that it was really a no brainer as to whether we would put on another workshop in 2009," said Indiana Conservation Officer John Salb. "We have a few areas that will be tweaked a little, some familiar faces that will be missing because of retirements, but overall it will be a great morning for us to get waterfowl hunters together and give them the chance to learn and have fun doing it."
Hunters are also encouraged to bring their shotguns and ammunition to take part in a clay bird shoot. Clay birds will be provided. Salb encourages those attending to pre-register at 574-457-8092.
