Water main work is scheduled for the next two to three weeks in downtown Warsaw, and street closures are to be expected.
Cripe Excavating, Syracuse, is installing a water main on High Street from Center Street south to the railroad and along the north side of Market Street from Indiana Street to High Street, according to Chris Harrison, Indiana American Water."The current water main system dates back to the 1940s, if not earlier. The new water main will provide better fire protection and water quality," Harrison said.
Surface restoration will occur in these areas following the water main installation and may require additional time to complete.
Construction may temporarily interrupt traffic. The project is expected to last two to three weeks. Portions of the sidewalk on High Street will be replaced, Harrison said.
Cripe Excavating closed High Street Wednesday morning to begin water main work, according to Cory Cripe, Cripe Excavating.
