Watch Your Speed

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:
I find it necessary to write this letter as a law-abiding citizen. I am encountering people who have a total disregard for laws regarding use of our roads and highways. Stop means stop, look and listen. I see people driving right through stop signs. Fifty-five mph means 55 mph.
I have the right to obey the laws that govern our highways. You deny that right when you tailgate me and get upset when I drive the speed limit.
We are supposed to be a nation of peace-loving people.
But you who are disregarding our laws are no better than those who we are at war with.
And the law enforcement people who see this breaking of the law and do nothing about it are not doing their job as they are sworn to do.
We are the U.S.A. It’s time we started acting like the citizens we ought to be.
