Brad Jackson was re-elected chairman of the Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management District Tuesday during the district's board meeting.

The board reviewed and approved an agreement with Chesapeake Electronic Recycling, Winamac. The company will collect recycled electronics four times a year at a cost of $525 for each pickup. They also will provide an enclosed, lockable container for storage.

Educator Bendy Mann said the winter newsletter is just about complete and should be available the first week of February.

She is working on a 2003 year-end report.

In other business, the board:

• Heard a rent check paid on the Center Street office to Terry Klondaris in the amount of $550 was found. Issued in 1998, the amount has been carried over from year to year in case the item was cashed.

• Reviewed and tabled an agreement with ReCellular Inc., of Michigan, to collect wireless handsets. Attorney Mike Miner suggested that a company in Indiana may do the same thing.

• Will be closed the third Saturdays of January and February and reopen the third Saturday in March.

• Heard tire recycling will begin in March and glass recycling will begin again in June.

Board members are Brad Jackson, John Kinsey, Avis Gunter, George Clemens, David Delp, Ron Truex and Ernie Wiggins. Sue Studebaker is the district director. Wiggins and Studebaker were absent.
