Washington STEM Academy held its Conservation Officers Archery competition recently. To the students at Washington, the bow represents ‘potential energy’ and the arrow represents ‘energy transfer.’ The competition also promotes reading. Many of the students read the book series ‘The Hunger Games.’ The students try to attain ‘Katniss’ status. In the picture are Madelyn Ray, the winner; Olivia Herman, second place; and Isabel Ray, who placed third in the finals.
