Workout Anytime is the newest 24-hour fitness facility in town and has several personal trainers on staff to help meet its members’ needs. “What’s nice about what we offer with our membership is that there are no long-term agreements. It’s month-to-month, open-ended agreements,” said General Manager Mike Michelakis. Memberships start at $15 a month. Workout Anytime also does a lot of multi-corporate and insurance-based partnerships locally that provide members with reimbursements for their membership fees, he said. It’s also growing its Silver Sneakers program where senior citizens can get their membership paid for by their insurance. “We feature the latest in terms of cardio, machine weights, free weights. We also have other amenity services such as the Hydro Massage and the tanning services. And what’s nice about our equipment is that it’s all brand new, and it’s industry-leading Matrix® equipment,” he said. “What’s nice about our training services is ... we have multiple certified trainers. We offer different types of training, including private training, we also do partner training and we’re in the process of developing group training as well.” Workout Anytime’s introductory consultation session has been a big hit, he said. “And that has led into our Jump Start program, which we’ve had a lot of people take advantage of to get started with our personal fitness training programs.” Not only does the gym offer the physical health consultations with the introductory programs, but it also offers nutritional health consultations, he said. “Our trainers do a great job of not only their weight program exercises, but cardio homework and things like that, too,” he continued. “That’s what makes our program really stand out is our quality of what our trainers do with our members and clients for those services.” Personal trainer Alex Deeter is certified through the American Council on Exercise, while John Zarse is certified through the International Sports Science Association. Assistant Manager Jason Spindler will be certified through ACE by Sept. 3. Another trainer who will be working with Workout Anytime on a part-time basis, Susannah Mast, also is ISSA certified. Michelakis is certified through National Strength Conditioning Association and the American College of Sports Medicine. Zarse said, “As a trainer here, I have clients from 6 a.m. to all the way to 8 p.m., so it’s pretty much an every day time. It just depends on their time schedule, so whatever works for them.” During the consultation, Zarse said, “We sit them down and we ask them what their fitness goals are. We ask them how their self-confidence level is, if they’ve had any injuries so we can adapt the program to their needs. So if they’re looking for strength, if they’re looking for doing rep ranges, you know 12-18 something low, still high set range is three to four. If they’re toning, keeping it more of a high rep range. Then also figuring out their cardiovascular levels. We also find out their heart rates. For a constant speed, keeping them at a good endurance and fat-burning stage of let’s say 25- to 30-minute long cardio sessions and then doing that on their own.” Sessions run from 45 to 60 minutes, with training on the floor, getting a good warm-up in and then running through the exercises, including core and flexibility with cardio on the clients’ own. Deeter added, “We always give them the tools to do stuff throughout the week when they’re not with us so it’s not just one time a week here’s your workout, we’re not sure what you’re going to be doing the rest of the week. John and I both check up on them throughout the week. We give them homework so they can keep up on it.” She said they give their clients the tools so they can be “super successful” with whatever they do. Michelakis said Workout Anytime is still offering the start-up packages so if anyone wants to take advantage of that they can just stop in. The facility is staffed from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week with managers and desk staff hours. In some cases if they have sessions, trainers will be there before that time. “One of the nice things with our premium memberships is not only the amenity services ... is that we have some really good deals as far as for the training packages,” he said. “The majority of our members are premium members, but in addition the majority of our clients are as well because of some of the extra follow-up assessments and perks that come with those packages.” Workout Anytime is at 2880 Frontage Road, Warsaw, and its telephone number is 574-376-4148.
