Updates to Warsaw's zoning districts and lot sizes could be in the works during tonight's plan commission meeting.
City Planner Jeremy Skinner is slated to discuss possible improvements to Warsaw's 1998 subdivision control ordinance, involving possible changes to the density structure of residential zoning.
"The biggest reason we're doing this is because there is no difference in lot sizes between R1, R2 and R3 zones," Skinner said. "And this could give us flexibility in dealing with what's out there and what could be established."
Skinner addressed the issue and provided information to commission members during a February meeting. Tonight he hopes the board will further discuss what changes need to be made.
Two members, Alan Clingan and Rick Keeven, were absent for last month's meeting and will need to be brought up to speed on the matter, he said.
"But hopefully, (commission members) have had a month to review the information and have an idea about what needs to be changed. I have a feeling most of them know what they want."
Also coming before the board will be a commercial replat request of Da-Lite's Nye-Brandt property on the corner of Ind. 15 and CR 300N.
Zoned as C-3, the subdivision replat is being addressed for the consideration of an additional outlet to the property.
According to a letter sent to the planning department, Da-Lite is concerned with the safety issues of its workers merging onto Ind. 15 under the current intersection configuration.
The request will have no impact on stormwater, sewer or water connections. Skinner is recommending approval for the replat.
Members are President Joe Thallemer, Jeff Grose, Keeven, Clingan, Tammy Dalton, Jim Gast and Lacy Francis. Skinner is the commission's administratior.
