The Warsaw boys swim team beat Columbia City 101-61 and LaPorte 92-70 in a three-way meet Saturday. The Lady Tigers went 1-1, beating Columbia City 85-75 and dropping a 82-78 decision to LaPorte. Brenna Morgan was a double winner for the Lady Tigers, taking the 100 and 200 freestyles. Delaney Wihebrink also won twice, taking the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. Olivia Herman won the 50 free, and the Lady Tigers also took the 200 medley relay. “They swam great today. Some kids swam some best times in events they don’t normally swim,” said Warsaw head coach Tony DeBrota. “We weren’t looking for best times here, and the swimmers who did their same events didn’t get them. But the swimming itself looked really good. “It’s pretty unfortunate we false started in both events 200 free relays, but that’s the nature of the sport. We are looking forward to tweaking a few more technical issues to prepare for (girls) sectionals in two weeks.” The boys have the Northern Lakes Conference meet in Middlebury beginning Thursday with preliminaries.
