Posted
LEESBURG - A 25-year-old Warsaw woman was in serious but stable condition Wednesday in a Fort Wayne hospital following a 7:35 a.m. crash.

Desiree Hall suffered internal injuries in the crash, which occurred on Ind. 15, south of Leesburg.

Hall was traveling south on Ind. 15 when she lost control of her vehicle. Her car slid sideways across the centerline into the path of a pickup truck driven by Joe Leek, 50, Warsaw. Leek's truck, which had a snow plow installed on the front, struck Hall's car broadside on the passenger side.

Hall was pinned in the vehicle and was removed from the car by the Leesburg Fire Department using extrication equipment.

She was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital and later transferred to Lutheran Hospital. Leek was treated for minor injuries at the scene by Multi Township EMS.

Snow-covered roads were believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Working at the scene were the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, the Warsaw Police Department, Indiana State Police, Leesburg Fire Department, Warsaw Fire Department and Multi Township EMS.

A photo of the accident scene appeared in Wednesday's Times-Union.
