Warsaw Woman Held In Strangling Case A Warsaw woman was arrested Friday after allegedly strangling a minor.
Peggy Mae Johnson, 46, of 421 W. Porter St., Warsaw, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 1:45 p.m. Friday for strangulation, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor. Her preliminary bond was set at $2,500.
On May 22, Warsaw Police officer Jacob Metzger responded to a child abuse report. When Metzger arrived, he talked with the victim and his mom.
The victim told Metzger that during an argument Johnson became angry and pushed him into a door knob, causing him to experience pain in his hip. Johnson then put her hands around the victim’s throat, stopping his ability to breathe and causing him pain. Metzger saw redness and scratches on the victim’s neck.
Metzger conducted an interview with Johnson. She was told she was free to leave and did not have to talk to Metzger. She told Metzger, however, that she did grab the victim by the throat and the marks on his neck were from her hands.
