A Warsaw woman is facing a battery charge after allegedly hitting a doctor while intoxicated.
Breanna Joy Antrim, 28, of 920 Anchorage Road, lot 117, Warsaw, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 11:27 p.m. Saturday for battery by bodily waste. Her preliminary bond was set at $5,250.
Court documents filed Thursday list the charge against her as battery on a public safety official, a level 6 felony.
On Saturday, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy Shaun Mudd was dispatched to the KCJ lobby in reference to an intoxicated woman. He saw a woman – identified as Antrim – exhibiting erratic behavior. She said she had smoked methamphetamine, according to court documents.
Mudd gave her a portable breath test and she registered a .215 breath alcohol concentration.
EMT arrived and began helping Antrim, who was uncooperative with EMT personnel. The EMT took Antrim to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment.
At KCH, a doctor came into the room to provide an initial assessment of Antrim. While he was examining her, Antrim hit the doctor on the chin.
A no contact order was entered Thursday.
Her initial hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Feb. 14 in Kosciusko County Superior Court III.
The court document did not include details on why she was initially charged with battery by bodily waste.
