MARION — In the large school portion of Saturday’s Hoosier State Relays Indoor Championship at Indiana Wesleyan University, the Warsaw boys track and field team finished 15th. At the meet, the Tigers finished in the top eight in three events, led by Stephen Kolbe’s 6-4 clearance in the high jump, finishing in sixth place. Also for Warsaw, the 1600 relay of Wyatt Jones, Chad Goon, Ryan Goon and Spencer Rheinhardt placed seventh in 3:29.46 and the 3200 relay (Ellis Coon, Wyatt Jones, Spencer Rheinhardt, Jacob Poyner) was eighth in 10:39.59. The 800 relay of Gabe Furnivall, Daniel Chalmers, Kolbe and Tristan McClone also competed at the meet, finishing 25th in 1:36.86. The Tigers open their outdoor season Thursday at Fort Wayne Snider. The Whitko boys track and field team finished 14th in the small school portion of Saturday’s Hoosier State Relays Indoor Championship at Indiana Wesleyan University. On the day, Whitko’s Alec Wilkinson was third in the pole vault (13-3) and Derek Snep finished fourth at shot put (49-8). Also for Whitko, Connor Stouder was seventh in the 55-meter (6.71), as was the distance medley relay of Dylan Cozad, Stouder, Jude Stieglitz and Trapper Mize (11:17.54). Whitko hosts Southwood Tuesday.
