Warsaw Welcomes New Supt. Haworth

Posted

Community members, teachers, administrators and students filled the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center rotunda Thursday for a reception welcoming Dr. and Mrs. Robert Haworth to the community.

Haworth is the new Warsaw Community Schools superintendent. The Warsaw Education Foundation and Warsaw Community Schools hosted the meet-and-greet reception. Sponsors Maple Leaf Grille and Paragon Medical provided gourmet desserts and live piano music for the event.

The evening began with a procession of community representatives presenting a brief welcome and gifts to the Haworths, followed by the reception. Community representatives included Cristi Ganyard of the Warsaw Education Foundation; Tricia Rice of Maple Leaf Farms; Tobias Buck of Paragon Medical; Sandra Hess, Warsaw Community Schools assistant superintendent; Ron Yeiter, WCS school board president; and Leslie Robinson, WCHS student body president.

Hess introduced Haworth's family, including his mother and father who surprised him with their attendance from southern Indiana.

Haworth made brief remarks about his vision for the school district, saying he intends to "ring the bell for education" in Warsaw.

He talked about communication being a central theme and he likened teachers, support staff and administrators as the "true builders" of Warsaw's future leaders, referencing the construction of the new building in which the reception was held.

Haworth began his term as superintendent in July.
