The Warsaw volleyball team wrapped up an undefeated Northern Lakes Conference season Thursday with its three-game win over Concord, 25-19, 25-22, 25-22. Finishing the NLC season at 7-0, the Warsaw Lady Tigers earned their first conference title since Elkhart Memorial joined the league in 2001. Clinching the perfect conference season, Emily Poe posted six aces in the win, while Chloe Hubner had a team-best 32 assists, Alex Sanchez posted 20 digs, Sam Jensen had four blocks and Jamie Lacheta led the way with 12 kills. The 22-4 Lady Tigers will be at Saturday’s Clinton Prairie Invitational, followed by their last regular season match Monday at home against Class 4A No. 7 Penn. WARSAW DEF. At Tippecanoe Valley Thursday, the Rochester boys cross country team took first place at the Three Rivers Conference Championships. Rochester won the title with 32 points, closely followed by Northfield’s 35. Whitko was third with 106, while Manchester was sixth (184) and Valley finished seventh (184). Northfield’s Caleb Augustus was the top runner at the meet, winning in 16:05. Manchester’s Matthew Fahs-Brown was third in 16:45. The meet was the last of the regular season for local teams, as Valley and Manchester will be at Tuesday’s Culver Academies Sectional and Whitko travels to the Fort Wayne Northrop Sectional.
