Warsaw Volleyball Team's Second-Straight Sweep Leads Roundup

KENDALLVILLE — A day after sweeping Northridge at home, the Lady Tigers hit the road Wednesday and once again needed just three games, sweeping East Noble 25-14, 25-12, 25-20.
Improving to 11-3 on the year, Katie Voelz had six kills, three blocks and three aces in the victory, and Cassie Hoag also had a good all-around game, finishing with 28 assists, seven digs and four aces.
Caroline Mayer matched Voelz’s team-high six kills and Peyton Adamiec had 14 digs.
After a busy couple of days, the Lady Tigers are now off until Tuesday’s non-conference home match against Columbia City.

Boys Soccer
Wednesday in Hamilton
Weathering the rain Wednesday, the Whitko boys soccer team traveled to Hamilton and got a 4-3 victory. Daniel Kirkham had three goals in the victory and assisted on the goal by Thomas Wyman. In goal, Jacob Helton had 15 saves for the Wildcats. Up next for Whitko is Saturday’s contest at Woodlan.

The Manchester boys soccer team dropped a Three Rivers Conference match at Rochester Tuesday, 2-0. The loss leaves the Squires at 3-4-1 going into today’s home match against Eastbrook.

Boys Tennis
Tuesday in Akron
The Triton boys tennis team got a 4-1 victory at Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday evening. Improving to 5-3 on the year, Triton was helped to the win by victories from Gavin Eads and Mace Eads at No. 2 and 3 singles, respectively, as well as its No. 1 doubles team of Austin Sellers and Alex Eib and No. 2 duo of Ben Waggoner and Spencer Glingle. Valley’s point came at No. 1 singles, where Trevor Neeley won a three-set match with Jared Fisher, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. The 1-8 Vikings are at Lewis Cass today and Triton is off until Monday’s Northern State Conference match at Bremen.

In Three Rivers Conference play Tuesday at Rochester, the Whitko boys tennis team came away with a 3-2 win. For Whitko, Cole Bechtold and Bailey Platt won at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, and the No. 1 doubles team of Alex Bechtold and Alex Robbins got the deciding point, with a three-set victory (6-4, 4-6, 6-4). The win was Whitko’s first of the season and it will look to build on in today at home against Manchester.
