Warsaw, Valley End Regular Seasons At Invitational

Wrapping up the regular season with its Spiker Invitational Saturday, the Warsaw volleyball team went 2-0, improving to 25-7 on the year. At the four-team event, Warsaw defeated Tippecanoe Valley 25-21, 25-11, 25-19, then took down Northfield, 25-22, 25-10, 25-23. Following its loss to Warsaw, Tippecanoe Valley then defeated South Bend Adams, 25-18, 25-18, 25-13, finishing its regulars season at 17-9. Individually for Warsaw, Emily Poe posted a team-high 24 kills, followed by Katie Voelz’s 22, Laura Craig’s 17 and Taylor Jagger’s 15. Also from Warsaw, Megan Chauncey had 75 assists, Peyton Adamiec finished with 27 digs and Cassie Hoag posted seven aces. For Valley, Kelsey Ball had 12 kills, two blocks and three aces, while Caylie Teel finished with 16 kills and 19 digs. Warsaw hosts Class 4A Sectional 4, with its first match being Saturday at 11 a.m. against Elkhart Memorial. Valley’s first postseason match is also Saturday at 11 a.m., when it will take on the winner of Tuesday’s match between West Noble and Whitko at Class 3A Sectional 21 at West Noble High School.
