Warsaw To Host Fly-In Saturday

An aviation auction and new aircraft displays will be part of this year's annual fly-in at Warsaw Municipal Airport.

The annual ASW Flyers Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1109 fly-in will be Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Warsaw Municipal Airport is at 3000 N. Airport Road.

The fly-in will include pilots from Michigan, Illinois and Ohio flying into the airport.Admission to the event is free.

Jim Holbrook, president for the Warsaw Experimental Aircraft Association, said this is the 14th year for the event in Warsaw.

"The fly-in is a great way for people to support youth interested in aviation careers in our community," Holbrook said.

Proceeds from the event go toward the association's young eagles program to provide funds for youth interested in aviation.

Proceeds also will go towards the ASW Scholarship Fund to provide scholarships for youth interested in studying aviation.

Breakfast will be from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and lunch will be from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Members of the ASW Flyers EAA Chapter 1109 will cook a sausage and egg breakfast and brats for lunch.

The Civil Air Patrol will have aircrafts on display and aircraft manufacturers will have newer aircrafts on display from bases in Indiana and Ohio.

An aviation auction will be held at 10 a.m.
