An 18-year-old Warsaw woman reported being raped at gunpoint late Thursday night by a 21-year-old male acquaintance.
As of press time, no charges have been filed against the male suspect.
According to Warsaw Police Department reports, the alleged victim told police friends of the suspect asked her to go with them and talk to the suspect. The group of friends said the suspect was going "nuts" and she was the only one who could calm him down.
Once she arrived at the residence, the suspect allegedly forced her into an area where they were alone. He allegedly pulled out a .22 caliber gun and forced her to hug and kiss him. He then reportedly put the gun to her head and threatened to kill her if she didn't take off all her clothes. He then allegedly fired the gun over the victim's head to show her the gun was real. He then allegedly raped her and threatened to kill her and himself if she told anyone.
He then allegedly took her into a room where he told her she was going to "stay the night."
Several people entered the room and the victim slipped out with a friend who drove her away from the residence. The victim then contacted her mother, who agreed to meet her at the Warsaw Police Department. The report was filed at 11:36 p.m.
At 2:40 a.m. today, officers went to the residence where the alleged rape occurred.
A gun was found at the residence and the suspect was also there, sleeping.
According to WPD reports, the suspect told police he "had his hands on a .22 caliber firearm and he had sex" with the victim in the laundry room of the house. The weapon was taken into evidence.
