Warsaw Swimmers Advance to Indy

Warsaw freshman Delaney Wihebrink and junior Brenna Morgan were double winners, sophomore Laurel Moeller won a championship and the Lady Tigers advanced seven swimmers to the state meet at the Warsaw Swimming Sectional Saturday.
Wihebrink on the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke, and Morgan was the champion in the 50 and 100 freestyle races, setting a pair of sectional records in the process. Moeller won the 200 freestyle, and the 200 medley relay team of Morgan, Wihebrink, Lauren Kuhl and Olivia Herman won as well. Warsaw finished second in the team standing behind Culver Academies.
The state preliminaries will be Friday evening, and the finals Saturday afternoon at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis.
Manchester had two individual swimmers qualify for the sectional final. Allison Smith was eighth in the 50 freestyle and Alexis Vernon was sixth in the 100 breaststroke. The Lady Squire 200 medley relay team finished eighth, as did the 200 freestyle relay.
Valley’s Caitlyn Bailey was sixth in the diving, Katie Gunter was sixth in the 100 butterfly and Lea Stouder was eighth in the 100 breaststroke.
