Warsaw Swim Teams Claim Two Wins Over NorthWood

Posted
NAPPANEE – Warsaw’s swim teams went on the road to claim Northern Lakes Conference wins at NorthWood Thursday night, with the boys winning 142-41 and the Lady Tigers earning a 120-61 decision over the Lady Panthers.
Brenna Morgan was a double winner for the Lady Tigers, taking the 50 and 200 freestyle races.
Ethan Cook was a double winner for the Tigers, coming out on top in the 50 and 100 free. Matt Wildman was also a double victor, taking the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.
While pleased with the team scores, Warsaw head coach Anthony DeBrota said there’s plenty for the squads to work on yet this season.
“I’m happy for the win, but I think we could have had some better times,” said  DeBrota via e-mail. “We looked slow into the turns, sloppy on the streamlines and lazy on the breathing.
“On a brighter note, I was glad to see some energy in the second half. Lauren Kuhl pulled a best time in the 100 freestyle, and Sarah Doyle outtouched a swimmer to get second in the 500 freestyle. I’m expecting better races on Saturday at the Warsaw Invitational.” The meet begins at 10 a.m.
