Warsaw Community School Band Department concluded its summer band program June 25 with two concerts at the amphitheater in Winona Lake. More than 160 students have enrolled in beginning band classes at Edgewood and Lakeview middle schools for the upcoming school year. More than 100 of them received a head start on playing their instrument by attending the free program that began June 8. More than 60 members of the 2009-2010 eighth-grade bands and more than 100 members of the Warsaw Community High School Marching Tigers Pride also attended summer sessions. All middle school band students attending the summer band program performed concerts at the Winona Lake Amphitheater on the 25th and enjoyed a day at Indiana Beach Amusement Park on the 26th. The WCHS Marching Tigers Pride began preparations for its 2009 show, 'Raging Machines,' and marched in the Silver Lake Days Parade June 20.
