Warsaw Students Qualify For Contest

Eleven student soloists from the Warsaw Community High School band program qualified for state solo and Eensemble contest, held at North Central High School in Indianapolis Feb. 26.

With some students performing multiple solos, 13 out of 15 solos received Gold (superior) ratings, with two receiving Silver (good) ratings. In addition, nine ensembles also qualified for state contest, resulting in six receiving Gold ratings, one Silver, and one Did Not Appear. More than 40 WCHS band students qualified for state solo and ensemble contest.WCHS students receiving Gold ratings for their solo performances at state contest were: Louis Bolduc, Crystal Drake, Jordan Friddle, Thomas Murphy (three solos), Nathan Sheetz (two solos), Kyle Smith, Emily Sumner, Marisa Vogel and MacKenzie Ziegler (two solos).

WCHS ensembles receiving Gold ratings at State Contest were: Flute Quartet, Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir and three percussion ensembles.

WCHS soloists and ensembles receiving Silver ratings were: Samantha Fisher, Joel Helms and the Trumpet Trio.
