Warsaw Students Get Hansen Scholarships

Posted
The Hansen Skating Octagon Club Scholarships have been awarded to Warsaw Community High School graduates Ryan Cultice and Sydney Hartman.
Both recipients have been actively involved in the Octagon Club, which is overseen by the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, throughout high school.
In addition to being involved in numerous charities and community causes, each represents WCHS as excellent scholar athletes, according to a press release provided. Cultice played golf, and Hartman was in tennis. The recipients are each awarded $1,000 toward their continuing education.
The scholarship was started in 2014 by Trace and Shannon Hansen.
“The Optimist Club is a community leader in terms of giving back to the youth of our community. The Octagon Club is filled with students who are taking the lead as young adults in giving back to their peers, and the elementary-aged students within our community. The effort of all Octagon Club members has an immediate impact on shaping the lives of our youth in a positive way, through mentoring and being role models,” Trace Hansen is quoted as saying in the press release. “My family wants to reward two members on an annual basis for their contribution to our community.”
