Familiar faces within Warsaw Community Schools will take over administrative positions for the 2014-15 school year. Tuesday afternoon during a special meeting, the Warsaw School Board approved Jefferson Elementary School Principal David Robertson as the chief academic officer, Warsaw Community High School Assistant Principal Danelle Barkey as the chief accountability officer and Assistant Director of Special Services Amy Hobbs as the director of special services. Robertson replaces Dr. David Hoffert, who was named Warsaw superintendent effective July 1. Barkey replaces Amy K. Sivley, who was named director of human resources, and Hobbs replaces Deb Blatz, who is retiring. According to a provided human resources report, Barkey’s salary will be $88,000 per year, Robertson’s will be $88,000 and Hobbs’ will make $85,000. All three of the administrators’ contracts are for 260 days. Hoffert told the board, “These are transfers that have been created by vacancies, one of which was my vacancy.” The positions now vacated by Robertson, Hobbs and Barkey will be posted today, he stated. In one other matter before the board during the special meeting, members approved moving the July 22 work session to July 15 at 4 p.m. and the July 28 regular board meeting to July 21 at 7 p.m.
