Some Warsaw teachers will receive a 2-percent raise as part of contract negotiations.
The Warsaw Community School Board approved the contract between the school and the teachers union at Tuesday’s public work session.
The raise will affect teachers with an effective or highly effective rating evaluation during the 2016-17 school year.
Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert said the raise was a slight increase from last year.
Other employees also will receive a 2-percent raise.
In a provided news release, WCS states it is pleased to give raises to all employee groups but “to sustain the ongoing quality education and to ensure excellent teachers and staff in our local public, adequate funding from our state legislature continues to be essential.”
In other business, Shelley Wilfong, chief analytics officer, announced the formation of a study committee on school start times.
School officials had previously floated the idea of moving high school to a later start time, and moving elementary school times earlier.
Wilfong says they are looking at feedback from businesses, parents, coaches and all others in the community before making a decision.
