Warsaw School Corporation Efforts Contribute To Kosciusko County Riley Kids Fund

Posted
This past summer, Warsaw School Superintendent Dr. Craig Hintz challenged the Warsaw School Corporation to become a Riley Miracle School Corporation.
To achieve that goal, all member schools must raise at least $1 per enrolled student to support the efforts of Kids Caring & Sharing division of Riley Children’s Foundation supporting Riley Hospital for Children.
According to Susan Miles of Kids Caring & Sharing for Riley Hospital, “It is proven that children who learn to give to others at an early age will continue to be philanthropically involved throughout their lives. Kids Caring & Sharing is a program that applies this philosophy to Indiana schools – encouraging students to give to others without expecting anything in return.”
So far, Edgewood Middle School and Claypool, Eisenhower, Harrison, Jefferson, Lincoln and Madison elementary schools have met the challenge. Students, teachers and PTOs raised $3,992.15 over the Miracle goal amount and contributed the overage to the Kosciusko County Riley Kids Fund at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. Proceeds from this fund help those children and families from the community who are patients at Riley Hospital for Children.
Hintz said, “Our students and teachers have generously responded to the challenge.” Efforts will continue with schools in the corporation.
