Warsaw School Board Recognizes Bus DriversSchool bus drivers were recognized for their work at the Warsaw School Board meeting Wednesday.

Transportation Director Mark Fick recognized bus drivers within the school corporation by giving out plaques.

He gave plaques to several bus drivers who had driven for Warsaw Community Schools for 20 years or more. He said not only did they have experience, but they were hardworking, coming in when they were sick, when it was snowing, etc.

Bus drivers Mark Tracy and Gina Keener were recognized for perfect attendance throughout the year. Three retiring bus drivers were recognized: Kim Grubbs, Terrie Good and Linda Haughee.

Also given plaques were the bus drivers driving special needs students. Fick said those bus drivers work nonstop and the way they care for the students is amazing.

Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert said this was one of his favorite meetings of the year because bus drivers are the unsung heroes at WCS with all the pick-ups, drop-offs and extra work they do.

Board member Brad Johnson said there are a lot of thankless jobs out there. However, he said WCS would not be able to work without bus drivers.
