Warsaw School Board Candidate Forum Thursday

Posted
Warsaw Community Education Association, American Association of University Women, OrthoWorx and the Times-Union are teaming together to present a Warsaw School Board candidate forum Thursday in the cafeteria of Jefferson Elementary School.

It is scheduled for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

All four candidates have agreed to attend the forum, according to Terry Sims, WCEA president.

Each organization will provide one question for all of the four candidates. All the candidates will be in the same room.

Each candidate will be permitted a three-minute opening statement.

The moderator, Sims, will ask each candidate to respond to the four questions submitted. Each candidate will have two minutes to answer the question.

Time permitting, the audience may ask questions.

Each candidate may make a closing statement limited to two minutes.

Speaking order will be determined by draw before the forum.

The timer will signal candidates when time has expired.

School board candidates are: M. Curt Hermann, District 3; Randy Polston and Christie Gale, District 4; and Jay Baumgartner, District 6.

Hermann and Baumgartner, both unopposed, will replace Deb Wiggins and Dan Robinson, who can not run for re-election due to term limits.

Gale is the current District 4 incumbent. She replaced Kent Adams, who resigned from the board Dec. 31 to become the clerk-treasurer for Winona Lake.

The general election is Nov. 6.
