CULVER – Warsaw emerged from Saturday’s Culver Academies Cross Country Sectional with a pair of team championships, while Manchester teams also advanced Saturday’s regional, which will be back at Culver Academies. The Lady Tigers finished with 25 points to runner-up Manchester’s 70. Warsaw junior Allison Miller was the individual champion in 19:28, and all five scoring runners for Warsaw finished in the top 10. Manchester junior Rae Bedke was third overall, completing the 5K course in 20:02. The Warsaw boys, running without standout Owen Glogovsky, placed four runners in the top 10 to edge second-place Rochester 41-50. Tiger freshman Zeb Hernandez was second overall in 16:02, losing by just two seconds after he was passed late by Rochester senior Wesley Meyer. The Squires were paced by sophomore Thomas Rohr, who finished fifth overall and led Manchester to a fourth-place finish. Triton advances a total of five runners into the regional. Baylee McIntire was 10th overall and Abigail Powell 41st in the girls race, while Bailey Wadkins was 25th, Cordell Sherow finished 26th and Shaun Honeycutt 36th in the boys race. Tippecanoe Valley senior Jesse Floor was 11th overall, leading the Vikings to a seventh-place finish. He and his teammate, junior Jared Mikel, advance to the regional. Two Lady Vikings, seniors Karly Kirch and Breelyn Conley advance to the regional as well. Lakeland Christial Academy’s Josh Gervasi and Alex Plastow advanced with 39th- and 40th-place finishes, respectively. The top five teams, as well as the top 10 individuals not on an advancing team, advance to the regional, which will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
