Warsaw Roundup: Warsaw 1st, Lady Tigers 2nd In Warsaw Invitational

Warsaw Roundup: Warsaw 1st, Lady Tigers 2nd In Warsaw InvitationalThe Warsaw Tiger boys swim team won its own invitational meet on Saturday, while the Lady Tigers finished second in their meet.
The top scorers for the Tigers were Grant Knight, Hudson Snyder, Evan Borchers, Nick Zogbi and Alex Cook. Snyder won the 500 freestyle, and Knight took the 100 breaststroke. Warsaw also won two of the three relay races.
“We had a lot of personal and season records,” Warsaw head coach Tony DeBrota said. “Great 500 by Hudson, and an incredible swim for Grant Knight. Nick Zogbi had a much better 200 IM?(second place). The 50 sprint was a little sluggish but not bad. The 500 free probably needs the most work right now, but I was really pleased with the non-freestyle events.
“It was a great meet for our girls, too. Brenna Morgan supported sprints, along with Laurel Moeller and Olivia Herman. Distance and mid-distance was strong with Melissa Deming and Lauren Kuhl.
“We improved from third place last year, so that was great to see. The team looked tired today but they still delivered. It was a team effort to get seond place after trailing in third the vast majority of the meet.”
Both Warsaw teams host Northridge in a key Northern Lakes Conference meet on Thursday.
