Swimmers Sweep Goshen
Both Warsaw swim teams defeated visiting Goshen Saturday morning in a Northern Lakes Conference meet. The Lady Tigers won 102-84, while the boys took a 123-63 decision.
Brenna Morgan led the Lady Tiger effort with wins in the 100 and 200 freestyle. Olivia Herman won the 50 freestyle, Stephanie Bailey was first in diving, and Delaney Wihebrink won the 100 backstroke. The team also won the 200 medley relay, and the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.
“Amazing meet for us. I was not expecting the times the girls got,” said head coach Anthony DeBrota. “Brenna Morgan got the school record in the 200 freestyle. We will keep the positive mentality and prepare for Zionsville (Dec. 19).
The boys team had a trio of double winners; Ethan Cook won the 50 and 500 freestyle races, Zach Tayler won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke and Matt Wildman took the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Adam Doyle won the 200 freestyle, Hudson Snyder the 200 IM, Hudson Kay was first in diving, and the Tigers took all three relay races.
“Great meet for us,” DeBrota said. “The boys seemed Determined to swim well. While we were still pretty lazy on the turns, I rhink the kicks looked a lot better.”
Before taking on Zionsville, the teams have an NLC meet with Plymouth on Tuesday.
