Warsaw Plating Works Inc., Lincoln Street, Warsaw, is closing its doors by Halloween.
"Yes, we are shutting down by Oct. 31," said Warsaw Plating President Tim Truman. "As far as we know, at this time, it will be permanent."
The reason for the closing, he said, is "just the general business conditions."
The company has 42 employees. At their peak, about one or two years ago, Truman said, they had between 90 to 100 employees, but have been decreasing the number of their employees since then. He said many of the employees who will be laid off are eligible to start drawing a pension.
Warsaw Plating Works does zinc, nickel and chrome decorative plating. The company has been in Warsaw since 1930 and was started by three brothers - Guy, Dean and Ed Aker.
