Warsaw Plan Commission approved a development plan for a CommunityWide Federal Credit Union in Warsaw Monday.
At its Aug. 4 meeting, Warsaw Traffic Safety Commission approved submitting a favorable recommendation for a traffic impact analysis to the plan commission for the proposed development.
The credit union will be at the intersection of Patterson Road and Parker Street in Warsaw between Culver's and Menards.
The plan incorporates approximately a 1.7-acre parcel of land located on the south corner of the Patterson Road and Parker Street intersection.
The site plan proposes a new credit union site with a drive-up.
Wightman Petrie, Elkhart, completed the traffic study in conjunction with a development plan approval requested by the credit union.
The study found that the proposed credit union will not have a significant impact to the roadways surrounding the site.
It also found the originally proposed and constructed access drive to Patterson Road will operate at acceptable levels of service during the morning and night peak hours.
From the traffic study, recommendations are to continually monitor the development sites build-out for the possible installation of a traffic signal.
The commission also approved amending the city's zoning ordinance to allow indoor recreational uses as permitted uses in industrial zoned districts.
In other business, City Planner Jeremy Skinner said the commission will begin reviewing the city's sign ordinance.
