Warsaw Parks Plans Holiday Programs

Posted
Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to celebrate the holiday season through a variety of programs and events.
Light Up The Night will be a celebration of the first evening of the Central Park Holiday Light Display and will take place Dec. 2 beginning at 7 p.m.
Community groups will fill the park with live music and caroling, including student groups from Jefferson, Madison, and Washington Elementary Schools. There will be a live reindeer in the park to interact with, as well as some activities and items for the kids.
The annual free Christmas Countdown event will be Dec. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Center Lake Pavilion.
This community Christmas party will host kids’ crafts, hot cocoa, cookies, and festive music.
Santa will make a special appearance at the event, so people are asked to bring their camera to snap a picture of the kids with him.
The first 350 kids will receive a goody bag.  Christmas Countdown is made possible through Bronze Level Sponsorship by Beacon Credit Union.
Letters from Santa forms are available now through Dec. 15 in park offices and on the website.
Parents can complete a form with unique information about their child, and Santa will mail the child a personalized letter for Christmas.
The cost is $2 per letter, and children will receive their letters between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
