Warsaw Office is CenturyLink's Latest Closure

CenturyLink’s Warsaw office is the internet provider’s latest location to close amid reports of lower-than-expected earnings this year.
The office at 122 E. Center St., which serves the company’s Warsaw-Syracuse area, has been shut down as of Tuesday and its phone number disconnected. A Best Buy in Noblesville is the only service location listed in Indiana, according to the company’s store locator, though according to the listing it doesn’t accept payments.
Questions were directed to the media contact for Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Iowa and Indiana and a message was left seeking comment.
The company lists 350 employees in Indiana as of the end of 2014, with a network investment in the state of $875 million. Most of its local territory is in the northern half of the state.
Monroe, La.-based CenturyLink reported a net income of $143 million in the second quarter of the year, $50 million below this time last year.
CEO Glen Post III said in the Aug. 5 earnings report that “our path to revenue and cash flow growth is taking longer than we initially anticipated.” He also said the company has “taken action to lower our planned capital investment and operating costs for the second half of 2015 to align with our current level of revenue generation," in addition to a “sales force realignment” completed earlier this year.
The company has closed several locations across the country since last year, including its 160-employee Seattle call center in September 2014 as well as offices and retail stores in states including Montana, Missouri, Oregon and Illinois.
