Warsaw Community High School’s varsity boys tennis team hosted an eight-team tournament Saturday. The Tigers finished fourth as a team with 13 points. Munster took home the championship with 23 points, followed by Crown Point (18), Canterbury (17), Warsaw, Bishop Luers (11), Huntington North (5), Merrillville (4) and South Bend Adams (3). The duo of Justin Stout and David Homme earned Warsaw’s best finish, as they finished second in the No. 2 doubles tournament. Stout and Homme were defeated 6-0, 6-3 in the championship match by Munster’s Mike Rivich and Patrick Toth. No other Warsaw duo or individual advanced to the championship match Saturday. Warsaw’s Sam Rice finished third in No. 1 singles competition, while Andrew Gauger was third at No. 3 singles. The Tigers are in action again Tuesday when they host Wawasee.
