Warsaw Man Suffers Head Injuries In CrashA Warsaw man was injured in a single-vehicle accident Thursday morning.

According to a news release issued Friday afternoon by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas C. Spangle, 28, suffered head and facial injuries. He was taken by Lutheran Air Ambulance to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. The nurse in charge at Lutheran said Spangle was not listed as a patient there Friday evening and could provide no further information.

The accident occurred at about 5:26 a.m. Thursday on County Farm Road, 300 feet north of CR 550S in Clay Township.

Multiple agencies responded to the single-vehicle crash, the release states. According to the preliminary results of the crash investigation, Spangle was the only occupant in a 2005 Saturn Vue, which he was driving south on County Farm Road. For reasons still unknown, the Vue left the west side of the road, hit a ditch and rolled several times. Spangle was ejected from the Vue.

Responding agencies included KCSO, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Lutheran EMS, Winona Lake Police Department, Claypool Fire Department and Lutheran Air Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by the KCSO Fatal Team.
