Warsaw Man Struck During Altercation

Posted

A Warsaw man was struck by a member of a group Monday night after trying to find the boys who were harassing his daughter.

Meredith Sensibaugh's daughter came home Monday evening and told him two teens attacked her coming out of Revco. The boys, identified as A.J. Springer, 13, and Scott Tinsley 14, both of Warsaw, reportedly chased the girl and a friend when they tried to run away. Springer and Tinsley allegedly came at the two girls, and Sensibaugh's daughter hit Tinsley across the face. Tinsley grabbed her arm and would not let go.

When the girls finally got away, Springer and Tinsley chased them to Sensibaugh's home on East Main Street. When Sensibaugh learned what happened, they got into their car to find the teens.

The Sensibaughs saw a group of eight males - six black and two white - on Main Street, and Sensibaugh asked who "put their hands" on his daughter. The group allegedly threatened Sensibaugh with sticks, then one of them struck him on his left ear.

The teens scattered when they heard police approaching. Springer and Tinsley, who are white, came down the street and were identified by Sensibaugh's daughter as the boys who attacked her. They were charged with provocation, a class C infraction, for provoking the girl to defend herself.

The youth allegedly threatened Sensibaugh and his family with death, and Tinsley told the girl she would end up dead in an alley somewhere.

The man who struck the Sensibaugh was described as a dark-skinned black male with a nose ring and "poofy" hair.
